i seriously cannot wait until i get a new iphone next month so i will actually have a reliable camera since my old one broke many months ago i always miss all the great photos!  things have been super busy here. the homechool co-op starts up again tomorrow and i'm busy making lists for some home remodeling.  i'm going to give coco a big kid room, complete with a loft bed and i want to get rid of my curtains and couch and get new ones as well as finally buy wall decor.

i'm also going to make a fabric headboard and i've decided on this fabric. so pretty right? i'm so excited! its actually a lot darker in person though.

friday inspiration

i was just about to fall asleep and realized i forgot to post my friday inspiration.  i spent the entire day at the mall basically, and then stopped by the store to get some baskets to organize and streamline my laundry room.  oh i also registered for two more classes, college math... can't wait :(  xoxo!

sick mama

last week my husband broke his ankle, so we have been driving all around going to different appointments. i'm really enjoying the fact that he needs to me to drive him around, extra bonding hehe.  during the appointments coco and i have done some extra bonding as well, like sharing a lunch of blackberries, pineapple, and coconut water on the benches outside of the new hospital.

yesterday i came down with what i think is food poisoning. really awful, i have been in bed for a day and i'm so bored and irritated.  i'm scared to go downstairs because i know they've destroyed it hah.  a lovely neighbor and friend of mine stopped by last night to bring me some provisions: sprite, g2 lime gaterade, and saltines.  i'm so blessed to know such kind people! 

right now chef hubbster is making chili, poor thing has been coming up and down the stairs to check on me when he's the one that should be resting!  and coco told me to open my mouth and his blew a kiss into it and told me it was so 'his kiss would fight off my bad germs in my tummy' i sure do love my guys.

friday inspiration + a little update

i want to start off by saying that the fundraiser for my friend shelby was a huge success, we raised over 5 thousand dollars in 15 hours! i'm so happy that she is going to be able to get her surgery.

also, i just got back from the gym and i haven't gone in years, i was nervous at first but i am so happy that i went. i feel so energized and refreshed! i know i'm going to be so sore in the morning but i had no idea that working out made people feel this way, i wish i had started sooner.

this week's inspiration is really simple, but i don't think its something that a lot of people realize!

This is my beautiful, strong, lovely friend Shelby.

She is 21 years old.

Over a year ago she underwent her FIRST surgery for Ulcerative Colitis, a condition which attacks the large intestine, called an Ileoanal Anastomosis, which removes the entire large intestine.

After a year of chemotherapy treatments, she lost almost 50 pounds and was on 13 pills a day.

Having undergone her SECOND surgery and treatment, a total proctocolectomy with ileostomy, just before Christmas this year, she needs to have her THIRD and hopefully final surgery within a few months.

She just found out this week that her workplace changed insurance companies as of January 1st, and needs to pay a $5,000 deductible before she can undergo surgery.

She has exhausted all of the possibilities for financial aid for this surgery, and really needs help.

As it stands, the incision from her second surgery is not healing properly.

Please, if you can donate anything, even $1, she would be so eternally thankful.

happy new year everyone!  as much as i hate to admit it, because i try to appreciate every year and day i am so glad to be onto a new one! there is just something really magical about a new year that makes a clean slate feel possible. i don't really make new years resolutions but this year i have quite a few, mostly things i am going to start doing and learning because i don't really have any bad habits besides going to sleep with my makeup on.
