a perfect day

today was perfect.  i woke up to princess kitty looking so adorable as she slept and then i got to spend the day with my good friend's family, they were in town and i haven't seen them in like two years.  we spent the day dining and shopping at tyson's corner mall and catching up.  i got to go to my favourite store, lush, and get my favourite deodorant ever {it smells like patchouli} and i got a new lipstick from mac, its called vegas volt.  way cute.

on the way home i even stopped by my go to cupcake shop and i got a toffee cupcake and one called the king, for my king.  and topped the day off with a little target trip... loving all the chevron there! xx

busy weekend

This morning I went to church for the first time. Well I went once with my sister many years ago but I was little so I don't really count it. When I went to play bunco last night {um I am obsessed now! It was such a blast} I met some really great ladies and two of them invited me to join them at their church. I was really nervous but agreed to go, I had coco stay home because he has a cold but I plan on going back next weekend and putting him in Sunday school. I think he'll really enjoy it. I really like how relaxed everything was. I'm officially a church goer now! It feels so good!

 Oh, and I brought some strawberry cheesecake bites to bunco and they were a hit and they looked really cute. You can find the recipe here.

 Friday night was mother son cosmic bowling and it was so adorable they had it all catered and stuff and coco beat everyone {even the adults on our team} hope everyone's weekend was awesome! xx

little thoughts

+ I made this super easy version of chicken parm for dinner last night and the boys loved it so much.
+ I am seriously considering starting my own photography business when we get to Bavaria
+ I saw this lamp at target earlier in the week and didn't buy it, now I can't stop thinking about it.
+ going to the pool this morning was a great idea.
+ getting slurpees afterwards was an even better idea.
+ I bought some new scentsy bars last night and I'm in love {coconut lemon chiffon is amazing}
+ mob wives chicago is my new guilty pleasure.
+ toying with the idea of colouring my hair.
+ finger tattoos soon!
+ I lost my house and mail key.
+ Saturday I go to my first bunco night {wish me luck}
+ we have five tadpoles and one is growing legs already!

a cavity + whole foods

Yesterday we returned to the dentist so cohen could get the cavity in his front tooth filled. We opted out of the laughing gas because he always sits still there and quite frankly it makes me nervous. With yo gabba gabba playing on the screen above him they got started and he was so calm (except for his dancing in the chair!) he even remained calm when they brought out that giant needle. Everyone was so amazed and impressed at how great he handled everything.

 Since we were in Arlington I had Dan drive us to whole foods (I do not do Arlington behind the wheel too much parallel parking and other related horrors) where I stumbled upon a lush like bath section and an amazing cookie selection. After we all went to moes where I got my usual home wrecker with tofu and coco got his quesadilla with mushrooms and when we got home I took a nap that turned into a long sleep, oops! xx

doctors office + a trip to the bakery

tmi time, today i went to the lady doctor for my check up and i was so nervous because i hadn't gone in years and i always do this thing that when i miss dr/dental/whatever appointments i convince myself that i have like stage 10 of something because i didn't go in time for them to catch it and i get all worked up over nothing.  all day i was worried about this appointment but i went anyway and while i was there rambled like a crazy person to the nurse and the doctor because thats what i do when i'm nervous.  it actually went by super fast and she was so nice and personable! i wish she was my everything doctor.

oh and i finally got to discuss my baby obstacles and she was going to send me to the fertility specialist but when i mentioned i was leaving in just two months (omg i just realized i have so much to do in no time at all) she told me i should wait until i get to my new place to go.  but i got prenatals to prep my body so thats good.  /end tmi

oh and i got myself not one but three treats afterwards.  i only ate the fruit tart but they're in the kitchen and ready when i am!

cafe rio love

yesterday at work the boys went really out of the way to surprise me at work and bring me rio for lunch (my ultimate fav). seriously so sweet! 

i'm so excited, we've discovered a new park that is close by and has lots of rocks to climb and all kinds of new playground equipment that i've never seen before and they have super new and clean picnic tables perfect for afternoon snacks with friends.

oh and of course we got another free cupcake on our way there (this one was peach bellini)

one day vacay

the mister is off today so i sent him and coco out for a picnic at the park so i can clean and relax aka play around on blogger.  just kidding, i'm totally going to clean too. so anyway, tuesday i drove down south to see my sister and my mom and eat some sonic (ocean waters for life!) and afterwards i headed even more south to visit with my bestie.  we ate pizza at my new favourite pizza place (they have a crab pizza, its seriously the best) and then we had a movie night. really low key but exactly what i needed.

oh before my road trip started, my car decided it wasn't ready yet and decided to not turn on but luckily april saved the day and we jumped my car.  i feel like rosie the riveter now. aaa who?

coco at the dentist

cohen had his first dentist appointment yesterday.  i know what you're thinking, he's 5 years old and he should have had one by now but we don't see doctors.  not unless something is incredibly wrong,  on the rare occasion that one of us isn't feeling our best, we rely on a cabinet full of herbs and tinctures and plenty of cuddles.  

since we are moving overseas we need to make sure we are all in excellent health before we are allowed to go and since my neighbor is a dental assistant she recommended i go to her and it was the nicest dentist office i have ever seen! i wanted to take pics but i didn't want to make anyone uncomfortable.  the staff was so nice and cohen was an angel.  he sat perfectly still during the x-rays and cleaning and the consultation.  i was really impressed but not surprised.  after the appointment he and i had an afternoon out on the town where we went to lunch and got him some new shirts and a toy for being so awesome.
